Sort of keeping up

It seems I sort of am able to write a post on a weekly basis, which I’m actually a little proud of.

First of all, I love what AP did with the CR integration in the site, kudos to them. Second of all: I’ll probably won’t be using the feature that much, cause, you know, I love to have the files on my own system (I’m a hoarder like that… Hey,  I collect magic cards, so that’s to be expected).

There’s not much to say in anime news, other than the fact that koiuta took a turn for the worse (killing off the entire secondary cast.. show has balls). I like it when a show isn’t all goody goody, smoochy smoochy. So I’ll definetly recommend watching it.

I’ve also started on recreating the library I work at in gamemaker. It’s pretty tough to keep a pace going, but, as with this blog, spending a few hours every week isn’t too hard and it’s crazy fun to do.

Also trying to get back into TERA. Leaving an MMORPG for a while and getting back into it is much harder then I thought it would be.

I think I’ll leave it at that for this week.

I really didn’t what title to give this post. As I’ve once again failed to keep this weekly writing going on. I’ll probably get over it, and as I keep doing this, I hope to get into a rhytm that will allow me to write once every week.

We had a nice talk with the members of the manga library I’m part of. We had some discussion on the dutch law which applies to copyright (which we don’t actually have in the Netherlands – What we know of is called “the law of authorship” or something). So I should be a bit more knowledgeable on what people are allowed to say about copyrights.

In Manga news: I’ve been picking up some yuri titles. The yuri section in our library isn’t that big (we have around 15 different titles, somewhat around 30 books), but I’ve almost finished all of them. I think Kashimashi was the one I enjoyed the most. I rather enjoyed reading some yuri, so I’ll be a bit sad when I’m done reading all of it.

In anime news: Only been continuing the series I’ve been watching. Kill la Kill keeps being the best season of this year. Other titles are okay, but not really “great” or anything.

Think I ‘ve spend enough time getting my thoughts on paper. I hope I’ll remember to write a bit next week.

miserable failings

So… That good inention of restarting my blog? A TOTAL FAILURE! Oh well, I’ll get over it. I’ve been doing some coding for the manga library that I’m a proud member of and so far I think they like what I did there.

In other anime news: I’ve finished all of the fall anime that I’ve been watching, but I can’t really remember any of them, so they probably weren’t that great. The new season is also kind of meh. I do enjoy Inari konkon and some others, but I don’t think any of them are all that great.

In gaming news: I’ve decided to get back into MTGO. picked up a nice controlling deck, lost a few rounds with it, but enjoyed the decisions you have to make while playing. Also decided to go full support in DOTA. I still think support is the hardest role to play, other then maybe a ganker.

Also picked up another RPGmaker title, a fun littel game of which I can’t remeber the name.

Now that I read  back on this, I can’t even think of why I think my life is too busy. It has to be one of my own failings.. oh well..

Hope to remember to write another piece next saturday.

14 JAN 2014

Right, so I had this idea of restarting with blogging. The hardest part I had when trying to do this last time is sticking to my schedule… STICK TO THE SCHEDULE, YOU FOOLS! So from now on I will be writing a minor post, every saturday, and try to stick with that for a year. That’ll be 52 short writings about things (read, anime) I enoyed, things I hated (read, series that sucked) and see if I can accomplish that. This is only an intro. The real blogging will start at 18/01 of this year. I hope I can stay true to my word this time around.

New thoughts on the new season

This is an old blog post from my anime-planet account, which can be found here: Anime-planet

5 MAY 2013

So, I guess this could be called: Part 2 in what I tihnk about the new season. As I’ve seen more then one episode of quite a few series now, I think it’s time to rate them once more, to see what’s worth watching and what definetly isn’t.

Arata kangatari: A nice adventure anime. It’s not the best what this season has to offer, but it’s certainly watchable without having to put up with your eyes bleeding out of your face.

Attack on titan (shingeki no kyoujin): This was perhaps the biggest let down for me this season, but that’s because I was so hyped for it before it had even started. When I started watching I was expecting some hot human on titan action, which just isn’t what the anime isn’t about. If you get into this without the hype it’s probably a very good anime, but I ruined this one for myself.

Date a live: How this isn’t a port from some eroge is beyond me, but apparently the source lies in a light-novel. It’s a generic harem anime with some magic and scifi elements thrown in. Nothing all that special.

Gargantia on the Verdurous Planet(Suisei no Gargantia): This one is pretty awesome so far. The action scenes might be a bit cheesy, but the story is pretty solid. Dude from super-tech civilization gets thrown to ancient civilization (us)? Sign me up.

Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince : Another pleasant surprise. I was quite unsure what to think after the first episode, but it’s getting better as the characters progress through the story.

Haiyore! Nyaruko-san W: I don’t want to touch this series with a 3 ft long pole no matter what anyone says. It’s bad enough I’ve watched through the first season.

Hataraku Maou-sama!: The rating on this series is really absurdly high. The humor is bad, the story is not that fun (I mean, come on, from a magical world to our plain normal world? That’s not what I’m watching anime for =/). Maybe I’ll pick this up later.

Hyakka Ryouran: Samurai Bride: This series deserves the same comment as Nyaruko, so look that one up to see what I want to say here.

Kakumeiki Valvrave Code geass clone much? Guy gets superpowers and a robot to rescue surpressed nation. Don’t get me wrong, as I liked code geass, so I’ll be following this one, but I can’t help but compare the two.

Mushibugyou This one is as manly as it gets this season. It’s a nice watch, which I’ll probably be comparing to bleach. So far, it’s all good.

Wrapping up some stuff, starting off some stuff

This is an old blog post from my anime-planet account, which can be found here: Anime-planet

7 APR 2013

As the title says, I’ ve been trying to wrap up the winter 2013 anime that I’ ve had floating around. And by floating around I mean stuff that wasn’t interesting enough to follow around weekly. Stuff like Ore kanojo.. Oh god, that series was BAAAAAD. I really hate characters who have no balls to stand up for themselves. I mean, come on, at least try to have a plot for crying out loud. But in stead I guess we’ ll just have to suffer mor emoe moe desu desu, as we like to call it around here. THIS IS WHY WE CAN’T HAVE NICE THINGS (and I’ m afraid I’ m partially at fault here for even trying to watch that shit).

On another note, with the new anime season around the corner, I’ ve been trying to get a look at all of the new episode 1’s that have been flying around the interwebz.

Red data girl looks promising, as I’ m getting more into the mindfuck anime lately. I’ m really looking forward to what this one will do.

Hataraku Maou-sama! looks terrible. Like on the level of Ore Kanojo terrible. I mean, it started of to my liking (magical conflict and stuff) and then it went downhill… How does earth not caontain any magic and how can the demon lord who sustains himself on magic be content working in a friggin’  MCDonalds? Ugh…

The title of Ginga Kikoutai Majestic Prince looked sketchy to me at first, but the characters somehow got me interested in them. Altough they really look like some random five stooges, I’ m wondering where this series will take me. I’ ll be following this one for at least another two weeks.

Devil Survivor 2 The Animation is another serie I’ m definetly going to sit through, because it looks awesome. DEmon summoning while the world around the demoninc summoners get destroyed, more or less like Zetsuen no Tempest? Sign me up!

Oh god… Why?! WHY CAN’T WE HAVE NICE THINGS!!!??? WHY DID WE HAVE TO GET Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge. To be honest, I laughed a few times during the first episode… At how bad it was. I mean, a curse which makes hair grow indefinetly? Okay. On a girl? Okay. Then a boy comes ove rwho wants to help her? Okay. A boy who has a hair fetish? Er… Okay. Who jerks of at the thought of cutting hair? Wait… what? Who convieniently has the only pair of scissors around to cut said girls hair so he can orgasm… Don’t finish that…

Hyakka Ryouran Samurai Bride is as I suspected it would be. Titties and more titties. And a really shallow plot to try and cover the titties, but utterly failing. I was probably drunk when sitting through season 1 of this, but as a result I’ ll be watching this one as well… God SOS plz…

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru – My Teenage RomCom SNAFU That title….. Anyway, aother sketchy schoolclub with sketchy characters and sketchy morals. Anyway, it doesn’t look infinetly terrible, so I might be watching episode 2.

DATE A LIVE is another generc harem anime with a terrible plot and a terrible setting. Spirit girls blowing up the earth and tight-leathersuit wearing girls flying around trying to take them out? But wait! There’s another way. Just make the spirit girl fall in love with you and all will be okay… I’ ve seen enough of that crap I think.

Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai. is Oreimo. If you haven’t heard about thi one: God bless you and stay away.. Really, stay away.

Shingeki no Kyojin is another series I was hyped about, but rather dissapointed after the first episode. The mange is infinetly better then the anime is, as the anime covers up all the gore which goes around in the mange (and the gore is the main point for this anime/mange, TBH).

Suisei_no_Gargantia is an anime in space setting, altough he space-setting might not be followed up on as the protagonist crashed on a primitive planet (hint: The planet is called earth). I’ ll be certain to follow this one.

I thought I would be dissapointed if I ever watched Namiuchigiwa no Muromi-san. I was so totally right about it..

I hope my rather small list can help someone out there looking for something fun. If not, well, that’s not really my problem now, is it? 🙂

Too much of a good thing can’t be good

23 MAR 2011

Since a friend of mine recommended some anime from the comedy genre to me, I decided to give them a spin. I tend to watch everything that interests me, but comedy doesn’t tend to be one of them. Kenichi was GOOD, and stupid as I was, I decided to go with Zettai Karen Children after that. That’s over 100 anime of comedy in little under a week. I used my last lifeline and finished Densetsu no Yuusha no Densetsu. It was an awesome series, But now I’m a little unsure with what to continue. So much to see, so little time 🙂

I’m looking forward to the upcoming marathon. Lets see if I can manage Sakura in little under three days, maybe there’ll be time to watch the first half of Shugo chara then.

So please, no more comedy recs for me.. got that? 😛
